FDIC Securitization Reform Proposed Rules

New York structured finance partner Andrew Faulkner spoke on a panel at the American Securitization Forum's 2010 Annual Meeting in New York on June 8, 2010. The panel, titled "FDIC Securitization Reform Proposed Rules," addressed a number of topics, including whether the proposed safe harbor, which is linked to various proposed modifications of securitization practices, is a concern for investors; how these securitization proposals compare to those contained in new rules proposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission; and what lingering issues may exist about which securitizations would be grandfathered after the expiration of the transitional safe harbor on September 30, 2010. Other panelists included Michael Krimminger, Deputy to the Chairman for Policy for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
