Rodman Ward, Jr. is of counsel in Skadden’s Wilmington office. He has been active for many years in litigation involving corporate, commercial and securities issues, particularly tender offers, corporate control and shareholder litigation. Mr. Ward has litigated many of the landmark cases that created the modern law regarding acquisitions. He also counsels corporate boards on governance matters.
Among recent matters, Mr. Ward represented the directors of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company in defense of shareholder litigation and was prevailing lead counsel for Cantor Fitzgerald in the longest trial in the history of the Delaware Court of Chancery. In addition, he represented Cendant Corporation in a contract action in the Superior Court of Delaware.
