Henry P. Baer is of counsel to the firm. Until June 30, 1990, he was the partner in charge of the firm’s labor and employment law practice. Having worked in business for ten years prior to entering law school, Mr. Baer brings a hands-on approach to the practice of law. He primarily represents corporations, providing them with counsel and advice on a wide range of labor and employment law issues.

Over the course of the past 25 years, Mr. Baer has represented clients in a variety of industries including the media (both broadcast and print), heavy manufacturing, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, clothing manufacturing and sales, and cosmetic manufacturing and sales.

His practice includes the negotiation and drafting of employment contracts and severance agreements; collective bargaining; and representation of clients before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and their state and local equivalents, and in arbitration and federal and state court litigation.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Baer was for many years the author of the monthly Labor Law column for the New York Law Journal and is co-author of NLRB Representation Elections-Law, Practice & Procedure (3rd Edition), a treatise published by Prentice-Hall.
