Mr. Gisser advises clients throughout the world in a range of industries with respect to mergers, acquisitions, and corporate and international transactions, including representing major firm clients in the real estate, technology and entertainment industries.
Mr. Gisser is a senior member of the firm’s practice leadership for the Asia-Pacific region. For almost six years, he served as the senior partner in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

- Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis, the founders of Skype Technologies S.A. (Luxembourg), with a consortium of private equity and venture capital firms led by Silver Lake Partners, in the approximately $2.8 billion* acquisition of Skype from eBay Inc. in 2009. Skype Technologies S.A. is a provider of global Internet telecommunications services;
- The Walt Disney Company in its acquisition of the Club Penguin children’s Web site for up to $700 million (including an earnout);
- Pulmuone Holdings Co., Ltd. (South Korea) in its acquisition by a tender offer of Monterey Gourmet Foods, Inc. Both Pulmuone and Monterey are food producers. This deal marked only the second successful acquisition of a U.S. public company by a Korean company by means of a tender offer;
- Pacific Century CyberWorks Japan Co., Ltd., a developer of online games and entertainment, in its $38 million acquisition of the entertainment businesses of Circadence Corporation, a provider of solutions and services that enhance Web site performance;
- Goldman, Sachs & Co. as sole underwriter in a $251 million offering of common stock by Activision, Inc., a publisher of entertainment software products, via a block trade;
- Plethico Pharmaceuticals Limited, a manufacturer of nutraceuticals in India, in its acquisition of Natrol, Inc., a U.S. public company that manufactures nutritional supplements, via a tender offer and merger;
- Skype Technologies S.A. in its 2005 acquisition by eBay Inc. for approximately $3.1 billion (“2005 Breakthrough Telecom/Technology Deal” by Investment Dealers’ Digest);
- Juicy Couture, a designer and seller of women’s wear, in its sale to Liz Claiborne; and
- NatSteel Electronics Corporation of Singapore in its $1.4 billion acquisition by Solectron, Inc.
