Among the world’s top law firms, we have one of the largest, most experienced teams of transactional lawyers, whose capabilities enable us to handle the numerous issues that can arise in a single corporate transaction.
Skadden provides advice in a full spectrum of corporate transactional and other matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance, restructurings and private equity investments. We also counsel clients regarding a variety of other matters such as securities law compliance, directorial duties, tax-favored investments and market listing/FINRA advice.
The depth and scope of Skadden’s practice has been reflected over the years in numerous surveys of the legal industry. The firm routinely tops league tables in a variety of corporate practice areas, including M&A, corporate restructuring, corporate finance and project finance. Skadden was named “Corporate/M&A Law Firm of the Year” by Chambers Global 2014 and in 2015, for the 15th consecutive year, Skadden was named the top U.S. corporate law firm in Corporate Board Member magazine’s annual survey of “America’s Best Corporate Law Firms,” which asked directors of publicly traded companies to select the firms they would “most likely retain to handle a variety of corporate legal matters.” We also earned the highest number of rankings of all law firms in The American Lawyer’s 2014 “Corporate Scorecard,” which tracks leading firms’ transactional practices during the previous year.
In 2014, the Financial Times ranked Skadden second in the U.S./North America “Innovative Lawyers” report. We have ranked as one of the top two firms for innovation all five years of the FT’s report. The firm had seven ranked submissions (tied for most) and three shortlisted for individual awards (also tied for most). Of particular note, we received the top score in the new “social responsibility” category.
