Aubry D. Smith

Aubry Smith is counsel in the firm’s Investment Management Group. He represents both sponsors and investors in connection with the formation, capitalization and restructuring of private investment funds. Representations have included private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, fund of funds and hybrid funds and have taken the form of multi-investor funds, single-investor funds, managed accounts, captive funds, seed capital arrangements and arrangements between underlying managers and sponsors of managed account platforms. He also advises fund sponsors in connection with the ongoing management of private investment funds, represents sponsors of secondary fund of funds in the acquisition of portfolios and related debt financing, and provides advice to sponsors and lenders in connection with subscription facilities and other secured debt financing of private investment funds.
