Skadden earned the highest number of rankings of all law firms in The American Lawyer's annual "Corporate Scorecard" (April 2014), which tracks leading firms' transactional practices during the previous year.
2014 Who’s Who Legal Awards: 'Investigations Firm of the Year'
Skadden was named "Investigations Firm of the Year" at the annual Who’s Who Legal Awards, held in New York on March 31. The event honored law firms and attorneys from around the globe who performed "exceptionally well" in research completed for the Who's Who Legal directories.
2013 IFLR Americas Awards: 'Americas Firm of the Year'
Skadden was named "Americas Firm of the Year" at the annual International Financial Law Review Americas Awards on March 27, 2014. The firm also was named "M&A Team of the Year" (for the second consecutive year) and "Restructuring Team of the Year." In addition, IFLR recognized Skadden with "Restructuring Deal of the Year" and "Equity Deal of the Year" awards for its role in the restructuring of Central European Distribution Corp. and the initial public offering of Biosev S.A., respectively. In total, Skadden was nominated for 14 awards and took home five — more than any other firm.
Chambers Global 2014: ‘International Law Firm of the Year,’ ‘Corporate / M&A Law Firm of the Year’ and Rankings
Skadden has been named by Chambers Global as “International Law Firm of the Year” for 2014. According to Chambers, the recognition “is awarded to the firm that has demonstrated its ability to advise on the highest profile matters across a broad range of practice areas all over the world. The firm is consistently recognized for its high quality legal advice by clients.” In making its decision, announced on March 27, Chambers said of Skadden: “A strong global network allows it to advise on the leading matters in every region of the world. Particularly fêted for their work in the M&A and Disputes spheres, cross-office teams regularly work on the highest profile matters.”
In also recognizing Skadden as the 2014 “Corporate / M&A Law Firm of the Year,” Chambers stated: “This leading US firm has an impressive global footprint, with particular strength in Asia and Latin America. Commentators appreciate its global network and client base, which enables it to work on international transactions involving multiple offices.”
Additionally, Skadden earned 322 practice and attorney rankings in the Chambers Global 2014 guide, published on March 13. The firm and its lawyers received 72 top-tier rankings.
