Financial Times 2014 'US Innovative Lawyers' Report
The Financial Times ranked Skadden second in the 2014 U.S./North America "Innovative Lawyers" report. We have ranked as one of the top two firms for innovation all five years of the FT's report. The firm had seven ranked submissions (tied for most) and three shortlisted for individual awards (also tied for most). Of particular note, we received the top score in the new "social responsibility" category.
Distinguished Pro Bono Law Firm Award for Hong Kong
The Hong Kong office was given the "2014 Distinguished Pro Bono Law Firm Award” by the Law Society of Hong Kong on December 5. Skadden was one of only two firms to receive that award, which is the highest honor the Law Society gives to law firms for their pro bono work. In addition to the Firm award, eight attorneys in the Hong Kong office received individual awards.
TopLegal's 'Italian Desk 2014' Award
Skadden's London office received TopLegal's "Italian Desk 2014" award on November 27, recognizing its work for Italian clients over the last 12 months.
2013 IFLR Americas Awards: 'Americas Firm of the Year'
Skadden was named "Americas Firm of the Year" at the annual International Financial Law Review Americas Awards on March 27, 2014. The firm also was named "M&A Team of the Year" (for the second consecutive year) and "Restructuring Team of the Year." In addition, IFLR recognized Skadden with "Restructuring Deal of the Year" and "Equity Deal of the Year" awards for its role in the restructuring of Central European Distribution Corp. and the initial public offering of Biosev S.A., respectively. In total, Skadden was nominated for 14 awards and took home five — more than any other firm.
