Skadden's Corporate Restructuring team in New York is seeking an outstanding lateral candidate (Class of 2017-2019) with proficiency in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings.  Ideal candidates should have substantial company-side experience as well as a mix of other representations (including representation of creditors and lenders).  High level of academic achievement, bankruptcy court clerkships and experience in the restructuring practice of a peer firm are preferred qualifications.  Qualified candidates should be admitted to practice law in New York.

The Corporate Restructuring Group at Skadden provides innovative solutions to clients involved in distressed company situations, allowing clients to enhance value, minimize costs and properly position themselves for the future. We represent troubled companies, boards of directors, management, owners, creditors, lenders, investors and acquirors in the full spectrum of in- and out-of-court restructuring transactions, including financial recapitalizations, business reorganizations, acquisitions and liquidations. Our lawyers also advise on insolvency issues in corporate and financing transactions and on all aspects of distressed debt trading and securities issues.

Associates who join Skadden laterally participate in an enhanced mentor program, which specifically focuses on the unique needs experienced attorneys face during professional transitions.
