From our beginnings as a startup, Skadden forged a reputation as a global leader in mergers and acquisitions by relying on innovation, intellect, teamwork and tenacity. In many ways, little has changed: By remaining steadfastly committed to the qualities underlying our early successes and adding to our collective experience over the decades, we are able to advise clients in any M&A scenario.
The New York Mergers & Acquisitions team is seeking outstanding lateral associate candidates with three to six years of strong transaction experience that includes broad experience working on a variety of public and private M&A transactions and working effectively on cross-practice deal teams. This is an unparalleled opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic environment focused on mentoring and training and development. Candidates need to have demonstrated high achievement and those who have worked in a similar environment at a peer firms are preferred.
What makes Skadden special is our people and the culture, community and spirit of collaboration we have created. A true sense of partnership, established with our founding, continues to evolve today among our attorneys and professional staff. A relentless pursuit of excellence, coordinating across practices and offices, valuing and relying on different types of expertise — that’s the Skadden way. It is why people enjoy working with us and we enjoy working with each other.
Associates who join Skadden laterally participate in our enhanced mentor program, Skadden Integration+, which specifically focuses on the unique needs experienced attorneys face during professional transitions. These efforts, along with our professional development and other Skadden benefits, including a hybrid work model with work from home flexibility, underscores Skadden's long-standing commitment to investing in its people, culture and diversity. We also have an extensive pro bono program that allows attorneys to devote, and receive credit for, time for myriad causes that spark their interests and matches those interests with the legal needs in the community.
