The Opportunity

We are seeking a Global Business Development Manager to join our Firm. This position will be based in our New York office and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. This role will lead and coordinate projects from ideation, research, and analysis to summarizing, recommending and implementing across a variety of practices and offices. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads projects in partnership with the Global Business Development (GBD) team to continuously assess core business opportunities and new prospects
  • Conducts research of companies, industries, markets, countries and regions to gain/offer insights that are beneficial to the Firm
  • Conducts internal client related analysis using a variety of techniques, including statistical and financial methods, to assess current client base
  • Develops stories/themes that explain the assumptions, inputs and conclusions in simple terms, for any work undertaken
  • Presents findings to appropriate internal stakeholders, including others on the GBD team, Partners and Senior Management
  • Ensures current knowledge of firm policies and practices for staff, current knowledge of industry trends, and continued professional development for staff
  • Ensures accurate and timely responses to requests for departmental services
  • Recommends guidelines and practices to promote efficiency, effectiveness, excellent customer service and improved employee relations, in alignment with the Firm's Core Values
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Have an innate desire and curiosity to learn about business, industries and markets
  • Savvy user of internet to research, gather and distill information from a variety of online resources
  • Strong analytical skills---ability to synthesize, interpret, and summarize relevant information from various sources and share insights into an actionable recommendation
  • Have understanding of news and trends in the global M&A, private equity, capital markets (equity and debt), and project finance areas
  • Knowledge or experience with Capitaliq, Mergermarket, Thomson One or other competitive/market intelligence tools
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
  • Ability to administer Firm policies and procedures

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Business Administration, Economics, or Mathematics preferred)
  • Minimum of three years' related experience in investment banking, consulting, equity research, investor relations

Salary Details

The starting base salary for this New York position is expected to be between $150,000 to $170,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
