The Opportunity

Skadden is looking for a Software Engineer. This position will participate in all aspects of the product development life cycle from design to delivery. This position will produce high performance web-based and software applications that provide outstanding user experience and are written in Single Page Java script frameworks such as Angular, ASP.NET Core, C#, and windows development with WPF. This position will be based in our New York City office. Responsibilities include:

  • Meet with team members and end-users to establish software requirements.
  • Prepare analysis of processes and requirements.
  • Consult with team members regarding design and implementation of application.
  • Create databases and application interfaces based on analysis of requirements within established guidelines.
  • Write high performance code using established coding standards.
  • Implement security access on applications.
  • Develop unit tests to test code implementation
  • Develop application testing plans and assist with the testing process, including contention with existing desktop applications.
  • Instructs Legal Technology Trainers in use and training of the software.
  • Assist with integration strategies between applications.
  • Research latest technology trends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing applications using C#, WPF/MVVM, ASP.NET/MVC, HTML5, Angular JS, Bootstrap
  • Ability to design SQL database objects for SQL Server 2012/2016, writing stored procedures and user defined functions
  • Thorough working knowledge of PCs, networks and web technology
  • Strong problem solving abilities and an aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Team Foundation Server a plus
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML 5 a plus
  • Thorough working knowledge of PCs, networks and web technology
  • Excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to deal courteously/effectively with others
  • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive matters
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Detail oriented
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • Two (2) to six (6) years of experience

Salary Details

The starting base salary for this New York position is expected to be between $100,000 to $120,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
