The Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Manager, Litigation to join our Firm. This position will be based in our New York office and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.
- Collaborates with attorneys on litigation-related new business pitches, researches client/prospective client issues, crafts tailored presentations and RFP responses, including identifying relevant firm experience and drafting content.
- Works with the Firm Experience team and other members of the Marketing Department to draft and distribute matter information and news.
- Drafts pitches and proposals in collaboration with lawyers in the Litigation, Securities Litigation, Government Enforcement/White Collar Crime, International Arbitration, Mass Torts Insurance and Consumer Litigation groups, among others.
- Works with attorneys and the Firm Experience team to research/draft and track/distribute litigation matter information and news handled by the firm.
- Regularly reviews matter descriptions for necessary updates.
- Identifies best practices for utilizing experience database to obtain targeted litigation information.
- Ensures that practice descriptions and other marketing materials for each Litigation practice group are current, accurate and complete.
- Assists with drafting litigation-related awards and directories submissions, as needed. Liaises with other Firm administrative departments (such as Client Accounting, Business Development and Technology) to obtain in-depth client relationship data for new business proposals and presentations.
- Collaborates with other department members, including editorial, PR and design specialists to produce a variety of products in connection with partner and practice business development efforts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of marketing and business development’s role within a law firm
- Knowledge of litigation-related practice areas within the context of a large corporate law firm
- Strong writing/editorial and research skills
- Excellent database skills (mining, entry, maintenance)
- Ability to synthesize data and accurately capture it in a narrative
- Demonstrates close attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational and planning skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
- Solid strategic thinking and problem-solving capability, coupled with excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
- Strong intuitive skills, and the ability to translate experience and lessons from one project to the next
- Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment, as well as independently and effectively within a team
- Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to work directly with partners under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
- Experience utilizing technology, including website, intranet, extranets, databases, knowledge management tools and presentation software
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 7-8 years of related experience (attorney, litigation legal assistant or business development/marketing professional) in a law firm environment.
Salary Details
The starting base salary for this New York position is expected to be between $150,000 to $180,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
