Job Summary

Skadden is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join the Firm. This is a part-time position. The Accounting Assistant performs administrative and secretarial tasks for department management and supervisory staff as well as assists all department personnel and clients. Additionally, this position:

  • Assists all department in accounting with administrative needs.
  • Assist with the escheatment process.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable department with data entries and filing.
  • Assist in some account reconciliations.
  • Provides information to attorneys, legal assistants, support staff personnel and clients.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manages Firm resources responsibility.
  • Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively with a team
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs

Experience/Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of six months related experience
