Patrick G. Rideout

Mr. Rideout has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad array of matters, including claims for breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and tortious interference, as well as violations of civil RICO, New York’s General Business Law and other statutes. In addition, Mr. Rideout has extensive experience advising private equity and public company clients in connection with contract negotiation and drafting, as well as post-closing purchase price adjustment disputes in litigation and proceedings before independent accounting experts.

Mr. Rideout routinely represents clients in arbitration proceedings and has a breadth of experience in all phases of arbitration, including full evidentiary hearings, successful dispositive motions and successful disqualification motions, as well as proceedings in state and federal trial and appellate courts to compel or enjoin arbitrations and to enforce orders of arbitral tribunals.

Mr. Rideout has been honored for his outstanding pro bono service in connection with his representation of missing child Patrick Alford, Jr., in the pending Section 1983 litigation in the Eastern District of New York, captioned P.A., Jr. v. City of New York, et al., 10-cv-4661.

Mr. Rideout serves as hiring partner for Skadden’s New York office. He is a long-standing member of the firm’s Hiring Committee and previously co-chaired the Summer Associate Committee. He also oversees training for the firm’s Complex Litigation and Trials Group and heads the Summer Associate Litigation Training Program.

Since 2009, Mr. Rideout has been the Website Subcommittee Chair for the Securities Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association, Section of Litigation.
