On March 30, The American Lawyer named four Skadden attorneys — more than any other firm — as "Dealmakers of the Year" and recognized three transactions that Skadden advised on — more than any other firm — in its coverage.
Skadden's "Dealmakers of the Year" are:
- New York corporate finance partner Andrea Nicolas, for advising NextEra Energy Partners, LP on its $467 million yieldco IPO.
- Chicago M&A partner Rodd Schreiber, for counseling Hillshire Brands Company in its $8.6 billion unsolicited acquisition by Tyson Foods, Inc.
- New York M&A partner Paul Schnell and Washington, D.C. M&A partner Jeremy London, for guiding Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc. in its unsolicited, but subsequently agreed upon, $1.8 billion acquisition by The Men's Wearhouse, Inc.
According to the magazine, the deals "spotlight creative thinking, novel approaches and innovative work."
