Skadden's Washington, D.C. political law practice held its 19th annual Government Affairs Compliance and Pay-to-Play Restrictions Seminar on May 17 in New York. Speakers included Skadden attorneys Ken Gross, Ki Hong, Erich Schwartz and Matthew Bobys. A keynote address was delivered by Maurice R. “Hank” Greenberg, chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co., Inc. The seminar explained the laws and regulations — and discussed best practices — related to pay-to-play, lobbying, campaign finance, gifts and entertainment to public officials, conflicts of interest and shareholder initiatives. The program included a panel discussion of corporate executives discussing best practices in implementing an effective compliance program.
