Palo Alto litigation partner Amy Park will speak at the 5th Annual Women, Influence and Power in Law Conference October 10-12 in Washington, D.C. Ms. Park will serve on a panel titled “I Have to Do What? — Process, Privilege and Self-Preservation in a Whistleblower Nation,” which will focus on the increasingly significant roles legal departments are taking in business matters, and the varied outcomes in recent high-profile whistleblower litigation that are making it trickier for in-house counsel to navigate privilege rules and ethical obligations while at the same time acting as effective corporate advisers and advocates. The panel will offer best practices for addressing corporate misconduct, managing risk, navigating privilege and ensuring self-protection in this context. Ms. Park and the other panelists also will discuss the importance of building consensus for legal and compliance obligations with internal business teams.
