Jennifer Berman represents a wide variety of corporate and individual clients in complex commercial litigation, including securities and consumer class actions, shareholder derivative suits, and disputes relating to mergers and acquisitions and commercial contracts. Ms. Berman has represented clients in federal and state courts throughout the country, at both the trial and appellate levels. She also has experience representing corporations in criminal and regulatory investigations, including inquiries by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and other federal regulators.
Ms. Berman has handled a variety of pro bono matters, including immigration and prisoner’s civil rights litigation, and civil post-conviction proceedings in state and federal court. She also briefed and argued a direct appeal of an inmate’s criminal conviction in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
