Daniel O. Blau


Daniel Blau’s practice focuses on defending companies and individuals that are the subject of government investigations and representing companies and individuals in commercial disputes in state and federal courts.

Mr. Blau’s representations include major financial institutions subject to examinations and investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, from initial subpoenas and information requests through the conclusion of the matters. He also has represented individuals and enterprises in state and federal litigation related to securities class actions, executive compensation disputes, professional liability and construction disputes.

Mr. Blau served as committee counsel to the New York State Chief Judge’s Committee on Non-Lawyers and the Justice Gap from 2013 to 2015, providing advice on unauthorized practice laws and opportunities for the expansion of legal services to the underserved with the aid of non-lawyers. His pro bono experience includes the representation of nonprofit institutions in real estate disputes, as well as state and federal prisoners in parole and sentencing hearings.
