Frank Correll represents companies in complex civil litigation, government investigations and enforcement actions, and internal reviews. Mr. Correll has assisted companies in responding to civil investigative demands, defended companies in civil actions arising under the False Claims Act (FCA) and represented companies in enforcement matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and other state and federal regulators.

Mr. Correll’s representations include:

  • a nationwide hospital system in defending FCA allegations that it caused the submission of false claims to the Medicaid program;
  • an intellectual property licensing company in civil and criminal investigations into allegations of accounting fraud;
  • a family of skilled nursing facilities in post-trial motions that successfully overturned an FCA jury verdict of several hundred million dollars;
  • an asset manager and investment adviser in an SEC investigation into the manager’s compliance policies and procedures;
  • a pharmaceutical company in SEC and DOJ investigations into allegations of accounting fraud;
  • an international financial institution in DOJ and CFTC investigations into allegations of manipulation of benchmark rates; and
  • a hospital system in a breach of contract and defamation action brought against a former executive involving allegations of theft of confidential information.
Mr. Correll also has an active pro bono practice, representing clients before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, Virginia courts and the federal immigration courts.
