Bio

Barri Dean represents clients in a wide range of high-stakes complex civil litigation, including numerous health care providers and corporations in response to civil and criminal investigations under the provisions of the False Claims Act. Ms. Dean has significant experience representing health care and pharmaceutical clients in civil and criminal investigations, as well as in investigations conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ms. Dean also maintains a robust pro bono practice, which includes representation of low-income clients facing eviction in the District of Columbia. In addition, she volunteers at the D.C. Landlord Tenant Resource Center, a service that provides free legal information to unrepresented landlords and tenants undergoing residential housing disputes, as well as a volunteer for the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, serving as a captain for its election protection hotline.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Dean worked as a registered nurse at Inova Health System in the Progressive Coronary Care Unit. She also has over 10 years of health care administration experience, including working for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Fiscal Intermediary.
