Daniel Medalie is experienced in a broad range of transactional real estate matters, including complex mortgage and mezzanine financings, joint ventures, reorganizations and work-outs, acquisitions/dispositions, both leasing and development transactions. Mr. Medalie has represented a wide range of clients in a variety of major transactions.


Mr. Medalie’s transactions include representing:

  • SL Green Realty Corp. in connection with its $1.5 billion construction financing and $525 million sale to the National Pension Service of the Republic of Korea and Hines Interests Limited Partnership of an approximately 28.99 percent stake in One Vanderbilt Avenue in New York;
  • Amherst Holdings in connection with its $652 million sale of a portfolio of 4,262 single-family rental properties to Altisource Residential Corporation;
  • Deutsche Bank in connection in with its $1 billion financing of both Two and Four World Financial Center (Brookfield Place);
  • MSD Capital, L.P. in connection with its acquisition of a majority interest in a large mixed use property in downtown Austin, Texas;
  • SL Green Realty Corp. in connection with its $1.45 billion mortgage financing of 388-390 Greenwich Street;
  • NorthStar Asset Management in connection with its restructuring of a $264 million financing secured by a hotel in midtown Manhattan;
  • Gaming and Leisure Properties in its $140 million sale-leaseback of the Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Missouri; and
  • Brookfield Office Properties in connection with its $270 million financing of the Wells Fargo South Tower in Los Angeles.
