Chetan Sheth focuses on advising financial sponsor clients on a range of matters, including control investments, exits and divestures, public mergers and acquisitions, bolt-on transactions, joint ventures, co-investments, reorganisations and management incentive arrangements. His experience spans a range of sectors and jurisdictions, with a particular emphasis on transactions involving financial institutions.
Bio
Mr. Sheth’s recent representations since joining Skadden include advising:
- Agroberries (a company invested in by Continental Grain Company) on its investment in BerryWorld’s EMEA and APAC businesses
- JAB Holdings on its joint venture with BNP Paribas Cardif to deliver a range of pet insurance services throughout the U.K., EMEA and Latin America. Mr. Sheth also advised on bolt-on transactions related to this matter, including a US$1.4 billion investment in Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited’s pet insurance business, the acquisition of AGILA Haustierversicherung AG from Aegidius Ruckversicherung AG and the acquisition of Veterfina Verzekeringsmaatschappij NV from its shareholders
- the shareholders of MiQ, including the founders of the company and ECI Partners, on the sale of a majority interest in the company to funds advised by Bridgepoint
- the Permira funds on the sale, alongside Berkshire Partners, of a majority stake in Teraco Data Environments (Africa’s largest carrier-neutral data center, colocation and interconnection solutions provider) to Digital Realty Trust, Inc. at an enterprise value of approximately US$3.5 billion
Mr. Sheth’s representations prior to joining Skadden include advising:
- Warburg Pincus on the acquisition of Leumi Card, an Israel-based credit card operator, from Bank Leumi and the equity arrangements in connection with the acquisition of Self Bank S.A.U.
- CPPIB on its £675 million investment for a 30% stake in BGL Group, the operator of comparethemarket.com and LesFurets.com
- Blackstone and PAI Partners on the disposal of United Biscuits to Yildiz Holding
- New Mountain Capital on the acquisition of Syntor Fine Chemicals
- Cale Street on its 50% acquisition of the Intu Derby shopping centre and its joint venture with Intu Properties plc
- SoftBank on its £24.4 billion public takeover of ARM Holdings plc
During the course of his career at another major international law firm, Mr. Sheth spent time on secondment to a major financial institution and a leading financial sponsor, where he worked on a variety of transactions.
