Skadden is representing Nomura Holdings, Inc. in its agreement with certain subsidiaries of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. to acquire all the share capital of Lehman Brothers Services India Private Limited, Lehman Brothers Financial Services (India) Private Limited and Lehman Brothers Structured Finance Services Private Limited. The purchase price is undisclosed. The acquired companies, which are based in Powai, India, provide business process outsourcing and operational support services across the Lehman network and have 3,000 employees, including 1,200 IT professionals.
The acquisition is expected to significantly enhance Nomura’s information technology functions and other support operations for its business units, Nomura to Acquire India-Based Outsourcing Operations of Lehman Brothers particularly investment banking, capital markets, research and prime services. The transaction is part of our ongoing representation of Nomura in its acquisition of various Lehman Brothers’ businesses in the Asia-Pacific region and its European and Middle Eastern equities and investment banking operations.
