Skadden is representing BlackRock, Inc. in connection with its purchase agreement to acquire Barclays Global Investors for approximately $13.5 billion from Barclays PLC, announced on June 11. The transaction would create an independent and fully integrated asset management firm, operating under the name BlackRock Global Investors, with combined assets under management of over $2.7 trillion.
