Baker Hughes to Acquire BJ Services for $5.5 Billion

Skadden is representing BJ Services Company in connection with its definitive merger agreement with Baker Hughes Incorporated. The $5.5 billion transaction was announced August 31, 2009. BJ Services is a provider of pressure pumping, well completion, production enhancement and pipeline services to the petroleum industry. Baker Hughes provides reservoir consulting, drilling, formation evaluation, completion and production products and services to the worldwide oil and gas industry.
