$4 Billion Offering by Barrick Gold is Largest in Canadian History

Skadden is representing a syndicate of underwriters led by RBC Capital, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and Scotia Capital in a cross-border public offering of common stock by the Barrick Gold Corporation. The offering, announced on September 8, 2009, for $3 billion and increased to $3.5 billion on September 9 ($4 billion with the over-allotment option), is the largest common stock offering in Canadian history. Barrick is the world's largest gold miner.
