Skadden secured an unprecedented dismissal of 214 plaintiffs in a multidistrict litigation pending against Pfizer Inc in the U.S. District Court of the District of Massachusetts brought by individuals alleging injuries related to their use of the anti-epilepsy medicine, Neurontin.
On Feb. 4, following numerous reprimands from the court directed at plaintiffs’ counsel for, among other matters, failure to complete discovery, Magistrate Judge Leo T. Sorokin recommended that the dismissal of all of the plaintiffs' cases was warranted under Rule 41(b).
