On May 31, Skadden will receive Immigration Equality's annual "Safe Haven" award for the Firm's 2010 pro bono work on behalf of 16 IE clients (more than any of the other four firms recognized) seeking political asylum in the U.S. because of their sexual or gender orientation. The beneficiaries of these efforts hail from a number of countries, including Uzbekistan, Jamaica and Russia.
