French Doctor Pleads Guilty in Insider Trading Scheme

Skadden is representing Dr. Yves Benhamou, a world-renowned hepatologist, who pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on April 11 to criminal charges in connection with his participation in an insider trading scheme with Chip Skowron, a former portfolio manager at the hedge fund FrontPoint Partners. Benhamou agreed to cooperate in the investigation and prosecution of Skowron, in the hopes of receiving a reduced sentence. On April 13, Skowron was arrested for insider trading, largely based on the information provided by Benhamou.
