The firm mourns the passing of our friend and colleague Robert Chilstrom, who led our international corporate finance practice and was based in our New York office.
Mr. Chilstrom had been a partner in the firm’s corporate finance group for the past 25 years. He was the first head of Skadden’s Foreign Intern Program and a model for intellectual mentorship. Mr. Chilstrom also was on the firm’s Legal Hiring and Opinions Committees for many years. In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Chilstrom was The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s Board of Trustees Chairman, a member of the board of directors of the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges in New Jersey and an officer of the Winchester Gardens assisted living facility. He had a great passion for life and was a music lover and wine enthusiast.
He will be deeply missed at the firm as a partner, colleague, mentor to younger lawyers and friend. We extend our sincere condolences to his wife Buena, children Mikaela and Per, and the other members of his family.
