U.S. Supreme Court Grants Certiorari in Double Jeopardy Case

Skadden has obtained a grant of certiorari from the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of pro bono client Alex Blueford, who is seeking review of a decision by the Arkansas Supreme Court that Blueford believes violates the Fifth Amendment's Double Jeopardy Clause. On October 11, the U.S. Supreme Court granted certiorari, with arguments expected in early 2012.
