On February 2, New York partner Martha McGarry was named "Corporate/M&A Lawyer of the Year" at the inaugural Chambers USA "Women in Law Awards." The awards recognized both seasoned and up-and-coming U.S. women attorneys. Seven Skadden attorneys were finalists in their respective practices, more than any other firm: Jamie Boucher, regulatory; Julia Czarniak, energy/projects; Phyllis Korff, finance; Colleen Mahoney, regulatory; Michele Roberts, litigation; and Tatiana Monastyrskaya, energy/projects (up and coming).
Skadden also was the only firm to be a finalist for both the "Most Innovative Gender Diversity Initiative" and "Best Mentoring in a Law Firm" awards.
