Skadden ranked first in M&A by dollar value of deals globally in representations of principals, according to year-end 2011 rankings by Bloomberg (Jan. 3, 2012). In Bloomberg's capital markets league tables, the firm was first by dollar value and deal count in representing issuers in U.S. equity-linked offerings.
The firm also topped a number of 2011 industry and regional M&A league tables by deal value. In Thomson Reuters’ year-end rankings (Jan. 4, 2012), Skadden was first in the U.S. consumer products and health care, Japan energy and power, and Latin America and Nordic region categories. SNL Financial (Jan. 12, 2012) ranked the firm first among legal advisers in the energy and insurance sectors.
