NCAA, Professional Leagues File Suit to Prevent Sports Betting

Skadden is serving as lead counsel for the NCAA, NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB in a lawsuit brought against New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and other state officials. The lawsuit, filed on August 7, asserts that New Jersey's recent efforts to allow sports betting within the state violates federal law, specifically, the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, which prohibits states from authorizing gambling on collegiate and professional games.
