LOS ANGELES – March 4, 2014 – Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP announced today that Nili T. Moghaddam, a former Assistant United States Attorney, has joined the firm's Los Angeles Litigation Group as counsel.
Ms. Moghaddam joins Skadden after nearly six years with the U.S. Attorney's office in Los Angeles, during which time she was involved in numerous cases related to racketeering and financial crimes. Among these, she prosecuted 17 defendants charged with structuring nearly $9 million in proceeds related to a pharmaceutical diversion scheme, and she was involved in the prosecution of 43 defendants charged with RICO conspiracy, narcotics conspiracy, money laundering, and various violent crimes in aid of racketeering.

Earlier in Ms. Moghaddam's career, she clerked for the Honorable John S. Martin, Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she worked as a litigation associate at a prominent New York law firm from 2003 to 2008. Ms. Moghaddam is a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and the Pacific Council on International Policy, and she serves as the Los Angeles steering committee chair for the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans.
A graduate of Brown University, Ms. Moghaddam received her law degree from Columbia Law School in 2002, where she was named a James Kent Scholar and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
