Skadden was recognized with awards for its work on two matters at the first annual IJGlobal Americas Awards (March 12):
- In a transaction named "North American Petrochemicals Deal of the Year," Skadden represented a syndicate of 18 international banks and other financial institutions in connection with Sasol Limited's (South Africa) $4 billion credit facility for its ethane cracker, which converts ethane into ethylene, at its existing site in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This matter also was named "Americas Petrochemical Deal of the Year" by Project Finance International (January 2015); and
- We represented SunEdison, Inc. in a $130 million nonrecourse debt financing arrangement named "Latin American Solar Deal of the Year." The transaction financed the construction of the 69.5-megawatt Javiera solar photovoltaic power plant in Chile and represented the first time that solely commercial banks participated in the senior debt facility for a solar project in Chile.
Infrastructure Journal and Project Finance Magazine merged to form IJGlobal in 2014.
