Former Keppel Lawyer Settles FCPA Charge

Skadden represented Jeffery Chow, a former senior member of the legal department of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. (KOM), in favorably resolving a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) charge brought by the Fraud Section of the U.S. Department of Justice and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. The government claimed that Chow conspired with other KOM employees to bribe foreign government officials to win contracts with Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.
