Class Action Litigation Partners Meredith Slawe and Michael McTigue Join Skadden

Skadden is pleased to announce that Meredith Slawe and Michael McTigue have joined the firm’s Mass Torts, Insurance and Consumer Litigation Group as partners.

Ms. Slawe and Mr. McTigue regularly defend class action matters brought under federal and state consumer protection statutes, such as various privacy, false advertising and communications acts, as well as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). They also develop strategic defenses for clients in connection with mass arbitration efforts.

“We are excited to welcome Meredith and Michael to the firm, particularly at a time when consumer class action filings are on the rise,” said John Beisner, head of Skadden’s Mass Torts, Insurance and Consumer Litigation Group. “Their substantial experience as part of the class action defense bar will be a tremendous addition to our group.”

Ms. Slawe received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and her A.B. from Dartmouth College. She has been recognized for her efforts on behalf of women in the law with awards from the Kilgore Society, The American Lawyer and The Legal Intelligencer.

Mr. McTigue received his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Following law school, Mr. McTigue served as a law clerk for Judge Donald VanArtsdalen in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Mr. McTigue has been recognized by The BTI Consulting Group, Benchmark Litigation and The Legal Intelligencer for excellent client service and his contributions to the legal profession.
