Tara Reinhart, head of our Washington, D.C. Antitrust/Competition Group, was profiled in Financier Worldwide as part of the Power Players: Merger Control 2026 Distinguished Advisers report. A feature spotlighted Ms. Reinhart’s extensive experience representing clients in antitrust mergers and acquisitions, high-stakes antitrust litigation and government investigations, including securing major victories in Department of Justice merger challenges and cartel matters.

“My job as an antitrust litigator is to make the most persuasive legal arguments I can in the context of the client’s specific situation,” she said. “It is gratifying to read a court’s opinion that not only accepts my interpretation of the law, but also mimics my framing.”

Ms. Reinhart also discussed a standout moment in her career: serving as chief trial counsel for the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, where she led teams in deciding whether to recommend litigation to block mergers and in preparing and arguing cases at trial.

“At the FTC, I not only gained that practical experience, but I also learned the vagaries of decision making at the agency. I cannot overstate the value of my time at the FTC,” Ms. Reinhart said.
