Skadden was featured in The Lawyer’s Global Elite 2026 report, which examined “the firms best positioned to advise major corporates on their largest and most complex transactions.”
In its profile of the firm, the publication described Skadden as “a name synonymous with strategic M&A” and pointed to our “organic capability and institutional depth” in “public M&A, competition, tax, national security and litigation.”
“We haven’t had to shift into new areas where we were not well equipped. It is exactly where we are strongest,” said Lorenzo Corte, global head of Skadden’s transactions practices.
The profile cited Skadden’s work advising International Paper on its acquisition of DS Smith, a deal that “combined the UK Takeover Code and Takeover Panel process with a US shareholder vote, SEC disclosure and stock consideration.” “It is a real transatlantic transaction,” Mr. Corte said. “It is public M&A on one side and public M&A on the other.”
Other highlights included the firm’s representation of Prada and Nokia in significant matters and our role in the separation of The Magnum Ice Cream Company from Unilever, all “household-name transactions where execution risk extends far beyond the M&A work itself.”
The Lawyer noted that the “longevity of Skadden’s client relationships speaks to its market standing,” while the firm “is now establishing relationships with the strategic capital providers of the next” generation, including in digital assets.
