New York M&A partner Richard Grossman spoke at the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) Annual Conference June 10-13 in Las Vegas. Mr. Grossman participated in a panel discussion, “The Activist in Sheep’s Clothing: The Changing Nature of Activism,” that focused on how traditional money managers are taking more of an activist role with companies, sometimes on their own and other times with one of the larger activist funds, and how issuers are increasingly finding that the best defense is to actively find and address the vulnerabilities in their businesses.
