New York patent and technology litigation partner Anthony Sammi and Palo Alto litigation partner Allen Ruby participated in a PLI program titled "Trade Secrets 2013: What Every IP Attorney Should Know," held February 12 in San Francisco and webcast live.
As chair of the program, Mr. Sammi delivered an overview at its commencement. He also made a presentation titled "Litigation: When to File and What to Expect," covering such topics as the anatomy of a trade secret case and its implications for product pipelines; best practices for deciding when, where and how to file; and key differences between patent and trade secret litigation.
Mr. Ruby participated in a panel discussion on trade secret litigation, focusing on discovery, "telling the story," disclosure of trade secrets, and the chance of success of preliminary injunctions, temporary restraining orders, arbitration and settlement.
