On April 16, New York litigation partner Lea Haber Kuck and counsel Betsy Hellmann presented a PLI webinar titled "Drafting New York Choice of Law and Choice of Court Clauses in International Commercial Transactions: An Update After IRB v. Inepar." Topics included the statutory scheme in the New York General Obligations Law that provides the framework for courts to enforce, in certain circumstances, choice-of-New-York-law and -forum clauses; how the New York General Obligations Law compares to the common law and similar statutes in other jurisdictions; and the practical effect of the unanimous decision in IRB v. Inepar on drafting New York choice-of-law and choice-of-forum clauses.
