Jessica Davidson

Washington, D.C. litigation partner Jessica Miller spoke at "Class Actions: Latest Developments in Law and Practice," a seminar presented by DRI July 25-26 in Washington, D.C. Ms. Miller's presentation, titled "CAFA: Eight Years Later, Why Are There Still So Many Class Actions?", explored why class actions are still abundant eight years after the enactment of the Class Action Fairness Act, focusing on how plaintiffs' lawyers have taken advantage of CAFA's exceptions, how pre-CAFA class actions are still influencing class action practice, and the softening of federal court attitudes toward consumer class actions.
