Skadden held its annual Government Affairs Compliance and Pay-to-Play Restrictions Seminar on May 13. The seminar explained the laws and regulations — and discussed best practices — related to pay-to-play, lobbying, campaign finance, gifts and entertainment to public officials, conflicts of interest and shareholder initiatives. The seminar also included overviews of the pay-to-play rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, as well as SEC and MSRB municipal advisor rules. Skadden speakers included Washington, D.C. political law partners Kenneth Gross and Ki Hong and associates Charles Ricciardelli and Tyler Rosen. MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell delivered the keynote address. A networking reception was held the evening prior to the program.
