Brussels European Union/international competition partner Frederic Depoortere spoke at the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law Global Seminar Series in Brussels on May 4. Mr. Depoortere participated in a panel discussion titled “Broadening the Innovation Theory of Harm in Merger Review — Moving From the Specific to the Speculative?” The discussion focused on how competition law enforcement is developing the concept of an industrywide reduction in innovation as a basis for intervening in merger cases.
