On May 3, the Energy Regulation and Litigation Group held its Twelfth Annual Energy Conference, in the Washington, D.C. office. Keynote speaker Cheryl Lafleur, acting chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), kicked off the conference with an update on FERC. Panelists discussed topics such as organized power markets, reduced liquidity in power and gas trading, mergers and acquisitions, and enforcement developments. Skadden speakers included energy regulation and litigation leader John Estes, M&A partner Katherine Ashley, and energy regulation and litigation partners Mike Naeve and Paul Wight, counsel Donna Byrne and John Shepherd, and associate William Barksdale.
