The Volcker Rule 2018: What It Means for Financial Institutions and Markets

Financial institutions regulation and enforcement head William Sweet and investment management partner Heather Cruz participated in Practising Law Institute’s program “The Volcker Rule 2018: What It Means for Financial Institutions and Markets” in New York May 8. As program co-chair, Mr. Sweet made opening remarks. Ms. Cruz participated in a discussion titled “The Volcker Rule — Funds,” which focused on relevant definitions; exclusions for foreign funds, RICs (U.S.-registered investment companies), securitizations and joint ventures; the treatment of securitizations; and the organization and operation of a permitted fund, among other topics.
