On October 1, mass torts, insurance and consumer litigation head John Beisner spoke during the Product Liability Advisory Council’s Virtual Fall 2020 Conference. Mr. Beisner participated in a panel discussion titled “SCOTUS Update,” which addressed key questions the Court will consider during its October 2020 term, including potential further refinement of personal jurisdiction principles, Federal Trade Commission authority to demand monetary relief for statutory violations, and the scope of potential liability of U.S.-based companies under the Alien Tort Statute.
